Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) uses magnetic pulses to stimulate brain activity. It is a treatment option for some people with depression. A consultation helps determine whether it is appropriate for your diagnosis, medical history, and previous treatment.

What we discuss

Your evaluation includes a review of symptoms, previous medications and other treatments, and relevant health history. We discuss potential benefits, risks, alternatives, and what a proposed course of treatment would involve. Treatment recommendations and schedules are individualized.

Preparing for your visit

Bring a current medication list and information about previous depression treatments. Tell your clinician about implanted medical devices and any history of seizures. Our office can help you arrange an evaluation and discuss fees.
